HOW TO MANAGE TIME EFFECTIVELY?
Good time management skills help students prioritize tasks so they are able to complete school work and assignments on time. Students are able to plan ahead, set aside the time they need for projects and assignments, and make better use of that time.
Becoming better at managing time allows students to become more organized, more confident, and learn more effectively. It can also help students avoid the dreaded procrastination problem, which can be a slippery slope to stress, frustration, and poor grades.
Effective time management skills are especially important for high school students. As students enter high school, they have to deal with more subjects, assignments, tests, and extracurriculars. Good time management skills can help keep them on track and reduce stress as they take on more work.
so, Here are the some simple tips to manage time effectively so make sure follow these tips and manage time effectively
Eliminate the Distraction
Get rid of anything that distracts you and allows you to procrastinate from your work. While you are studying or writing, turn off your phone’s ringtones and vibrations and put it in a drawer where you won’t be tempted to answer calls and messages. Allow yourself to check your phone only once per hour. Get off Facebook, Messenger, Youtube and other distractions. Save them for when you are relaxing.
Create study Schedule
1. According to research,
The best time to study:
4am - 6am ⇒ Brain Function : 100%
6am - 7:30am ⇒ Brain Function : 50%
Night Time ⇒ Brain Function : 20%
Studying each day is more effective than studying for an extended period of time in one day. Spend time studying in the morning. This way you have no excuses later in the day.
Using the flashcard
Flash cards help us to know whether or not we are thorough with any topic. Using flashcards is very simple : just cut some equal small pieces of paper and write the name of a hard topic on it. After studying read the topic on the flash card and try to explain the topic to yourself. This will make you thorough with the topic
Take a break
This might seem counter-intuitive, but it’s very important to take breaks.
Doing this will ensure that your mind is kept fresh and will help fight off mental fatigue.
You should figure out what break schedule works for you, but one I’ve said before is -
2 - 3 hours: 15-minutes break
3 - 5 hours: 30-minutes break
5 - 8 hours: 1-hour break
Break the time
As you get into long hours of study, it is important to take a break in between to feel refreshed and stay active. So while planning your time, remember to mark a time for break and if possible also decide what kind of activities to indulge in the break. Make a strict no for gadgets. Instead, sleep or take a walk in the garden. Such real time activities will do you good.
Motivation Factor
When you make time schedules, there are 80% chances that you don't adhere to it. So you need to find ways to encourage yourself to stick to it. How do you do it? Introduce self rewards like having an ice cream or a chocolate if you successfully finish studying as per your plan. Treating yourself after each successful completion will give you the motivation to stick to your time chart and do it dexterously.
Credible goals
During the planning part, you might feel very ambitious and allocate too many things to be done too quick. It is good to be aiming for more but it is important for you to make credible goals so that it is doable and you actually do it. So allot enough time for each session and subject.
Think ahead: Each Sunday, I write out all the homework or mandatory work I anticipate to receive over the next week, because most of the times, teachers assign regular problem sets or papers that are predictable in advance. Each daily plan that I formulate includes a portion of this list of homework. This helps me keep track of due dates so that I don't miss any homework, and gives me the joy of erasing completed items from the long list to eventually make it blank. If I keep my set schedule, then I know I won't have to worry about late work or time management.” – Gaeun
